Hey Y’all!
So, I had another blog post written for today, but I just have to share how much of a mess I am with you.
Basically, my parents are out of town and I am house sitting their house in addition to my fiancé’s. Yea, well, my usual rounds WEREN’T usual today. I walk into their back yard, per the usual, and find a dead possum. A DEAD FREAKING POSSUM.
So, what does one do when they find a dead possum? Well a normal person would just scoop it up and dispose of it. NOT ME. I called my fiancé who is 16 hours away *who can’t do anything* for “help”. He thought I was ridiculous and hung up on me.
So, then I call my mom who is 6 hours away *who also cannot do anything* for said “help”. This time I got the “big girl” lecture in addition to the expected beeps of her hanging up.
So, my last resort I call my dad who is also 6 hours away *again can’t do anything* and DEMANDED he stay on the phone for emotional support. And when I say demanded, I mean I had tears in my eyes with aggression in my voice. At this point, I didn’t care because this possum was DEAD IN THE BACK YARD AND NOBODY SEEMED TO CARE.
After 5 minutes of my aggressive lecture on how he is going to stay on the phone with me, I hear men in the background talking about me. Low and behold ALL of my dad’s coworkers were present and he was at a company dinner. A FREAKING COMPANY DINNER.
But, jokes on everyone because my dad was the real MVP because he stayed on the phone with me. I was so hyped up I couldn’t even care that I had a group of men watching me dispose of this fly infested dead possum.
The best part was, that group of men was the best support I have ever had. They may have been laughing at me, but at least THEY. WERE. HELPFUL. Yes, that was a swing at my mom and Junior.
So, today I conquered a possum. May he rest in peace. That is all.
This has been your daily dose of Vitamin C!
